To obtain a Mongolian tourist visa, you will need an invitation letter from a Mongolian travel company. After that, you can apply for a visa at a Mongolian embassy or consulate in your country.
Step 1. Get the Invitation Letter
We provide the invitation letter once you complete your tour reservation.
Please email us the following information at info@voyagemongolia.com:
- Scanned copy of your passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from the start date of your trip)
- Gender
- Passport number
- Passport expiry date
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Nationality
- Citizenship
- Address of the embassy or consulate where you will apply for the visa
- Dates of arrival in and departure from Mongolia
Based on this information, our travel company will apply for an invitation letter through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar. The invitation letter is usually issued on the same day or the next business day, depending on processing time, and will be sent to you by email. You will then need to print it out.
Step 2. Fill Out the Visa Application Form
Download, print, and complete the Mongolian Tourist Visa Application Form.
Step 3. Apply for a Mongolian Visa
Submit the following documents to the Mongolian embassy or consulate in your country to obtain a tourist visa:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the start date of your trip
- Completed visa application form
- One recent passport-size photo
- Invitation letter from a Mongolian travel company
- Visa fee (depends on the type of visa, the country where you apply, and your citizenship)
Step 4. Receive Your Visa and Enjoy Your Trip to Mongolia
You can usually collect your passport with the Mongolian visa after five working days at the embassy or consulate. The visa is valid for 30 days from the date of entry into Mongolia. You must enter Mongolia within three months from the visa issuance date.
